What AI says about your practice

How to find out whether Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants name your practice when your buyers ask who to hire, who they name instead, and what to change so they do.

Buyers ask, assistants answer

When a company asks Claude or ChatGPT who can help with a problem, the assistant answers with three or four firms and a reason for each. If your practice is one of them, you are on the shortlist before the buyer has opened a single website. If it is not, you are not.

You cannot see those conversations. But you can ask the same questions yourself, and see what the assistants say.

Ask what your buyers ask

The useful questions are the ones your buyers would type: the problem, the kind of company they are, and where. Not “Is Fernwood Consulting good?” but “Who can replace our spreadsheet reporting with dashboards?”

Haycion writes a set of those questions for your listing, from your specialisms, industries and regions, and puts them to Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants. For each one it shows whether your practice was named, and if not, who was.

Named, or named instead

Two answers are worth more than any score. Named means the assistant could describe your practice with enough confidence to recommend it. Named instead tells you which firm it chose for that question, which is the firm whose profile it found clearer than yours.

Read the questions you were not named for next to the profile of the firm that was. The gap is usually plain to see: a sentence they have that you do not, a specialism they state that you only imply, a region they name that you leave out.

What moves the answer

Assistants repeat what they can read and cite. The changes that move the answer are the ones that give them more to read:

  1. One plain sentence about what you do, for whom, and where, at the top of your profile.
  2. The same facts everywhere. Your profile, your website and the directories you are listed in should agree.
  3. A machine-readable version of the profile, so the assistant can parse it rather than guess.
  4. Verification. A profile the assistant can check against your own domain is one it can cite with confidence.
  5. Ask again. After every change, run the questions again and see what moved.

How Haycion does this

Your practice’s profile in the Advisor Network is published as a page and as a markdown twin with structured data, and it is verified against your domain. The visibility check runs whenever you want, from your practice’s home in Haycion, and keeps the last result so you can see what changed. The same check runs for every client workspace you add, so you can show a client what AI says about them too.

Questions advisors ask

Which assistants does Haycion ask?

Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants that answer with named firms. The questions are the ones written for your own listing, so the answers reflect what your buyers would actually be told.

How often should I run the check?

Whenever you change your profile, and once in a while regardless: the assistants' answers move as other firms publish and as the models are updated. Run it, change something, run it again.

What if a competitor is named instead of me?

Look at what the assistant could read about them that it could not read about you. Usually it is a plainer sentence about what they do, who for and where. Fix that on your profile and ask again.

Does being named mean I will get the call?

It means you are on the shortlist the buyer sees, which is where the decision starts. A profile the buyer can then read and verify, with a working Contact button, does the rest.
